Alumni Association scholarships

Scholarship applications are accepted once each year and are reviewed and awarded by the WSU Alumni Association Scholarship Committee.

  • David Adamany-WSU Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship

    This scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to selected students who, through voluntary participation in a university activity, have helped to promote a positive image of Wayne State. Students who have participated in extracurricular activities at WSU are eligible to apply.

    Awards are for tuition and other educational expenses for full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate study in the fall, winter and spring/summer semesters.

    Applications are accepted once per year and are reviewed and awarded by the WSU Alumni Association Scholarship Committee.

  • Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship

    This scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to selected students who, through voluntary participation in a university activity, have helped to promote a positive image of Wayne State.   • Taylor A. Lewis, M.D., and Cleveland Hurst III Endowed Scholarship

    Dr. Taylor A. Lewis and Cleveland Hurst III served on the WSU Alumni Association Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and Dr. Lewis also served as Alumni Association president. He established the Taylor A. Lewis, M.D., and Cleveland Hurst III Endowed Scholarship in 2011 to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and help students finance their education at Wayne State University. 

    Current full- or part-time undergraduate students are eligible to apply for this scholarship, which provides $1,000 of financial assistance to those who delayed attending college after high school graduation, or students returning to Wayne State after an extended absence to complete their degree. Awards may be used for Wayne State tuition and educational expenses.
