Faculty and staff are being asked to support WSU through the Inspire From Within campaign because your collective support has the potential to make a big impact on the future of our university. Support from our campus community also demonstrates that we believe in the work we do and the opportunities we create, which sends a powerful message to our external supporters. Since tuition pays for less than half of what it costs to educate a student, Wayne State relies significantly on philanthropy. Alumni, parents, friends, faculty, and staff are key sources of support for the University. Q. What can I give to? A. What you support is entirely up to you. You can designate your gift towards any Wayne State University area- student basic needs, urban health research, scholarships and more. Q: Is my donation tax-deductible? A: All donations made to Wayne State are tax-deductible. With every donation, our alumni, parents and friends receive a postal thank you letter along with the tax-deductible receipt. Q. How does payroll deduction work? A. Payroll deduction is one of the most convenient ways to make a gift. When you enroll in payroll deduction, your gift is automatically deducted from your paycheck for the exact amount and timeframe you stipulate. You can find the payroll deduction form here. Q. Can I designate multiple areas for my gifts to go towards? Yes, you can select multiple initiatives that are important to you, and designate your gift to be split evenly between them when you fill out a payroll deduct form. If you want to make gifts of different sizes to multiple initiatives, you can fill out separate payroll deduct forms (just be sure to check "This is a new payroll deduction"). Q. How is my gift going to benefit Wayne State, my colleagues and me? You are a valued part of the Wayne State community, and when the University benefits, the community benefits.
