Chereka Moore, R.N. '02
Chereka is a graduate of the Biological Sciences program in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, a mother of three, a HIIT certified instructor, and an R.N. case manager at United Healthcare with a focus on the high risk pregnancy population. Prior to the pandemic, Chereka was an on-the-go mom, utilizing her skills to aid mothers with high stress pregnancies and offering HIIT classes to young pregnant women through a partnership with Tianna House - a safe haven for pregnant teens in the Eastpointe area.
Now that the world has changed, Chereka has changed with it and found a way to positively impact her community during the global pandemic. She is currently offering her energizing and entertaining HIIT classes via Facebook Live to help people stay healthy and engage with others, when we have to be physically apart. "The goal is to feel connected to one another even during this time of distance," says Chereka. She takes pride in her ability to serve her community in a fun and interactive way.
Chereka is WarriorStrong! Her advice for navigating our current world is, "Just keep moving. That will hopefully uplift people and bring them some joy during this time." If you are looking for a healthy and fun way to relieve stress, get active, and interact with others head over to Chereka's Facebook group where classes are held twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
We thank her for her unwillingness to quit during this time and her continued efforts to keep people healthy. We are proud to have her as a part of our Warrior Alumni Family!
