The Wayne State University Alumni Association scholarships have impacted the lives of more than 200 students since 1998. More than $1.7 million has been awarded through the organization's two scholarships. 

These are in addition to the variety of scholarships and financial aid offered by the university.

DAVID ADAMANY-WSU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS

The Wayne State University Alumni Association strives to increase opportunities for students. By offering scholarships to students involved in extracurricular groups, the alumni association recognizes the important contributions of student activities to both the educational experience and to campus life. Through this scholarship program, the alumni association encourages student leaders of today to become the alumni leaders of tomorrow, and pays tribute to WSU President Emeritus David Adamany, who served from 1982 to 1997.

Students who have participated in extracurricular activities at WSU are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Awards are for tuition and other educational expenses for full or part time study in the Fall, Winter and Spring/Summer semesters.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. on March 31.

TAYLOR A. LEWIS, M.D. AND CLEVELAND HURST III
ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

Taylor A. Lewis, M.D. and Cleveland Hurst III shared a special bond of friendship. Hurst graduated from Wayne State in 1971 and Dr. Lewis graduated in 1978. Both served on the WSU Alumni Association Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Dr. Lewis also served as alumni association President and he never forgot his obligation to lend a hand. Dr. Lewis established the Taylor A. Lewis, M.D. and Cleveland Hurst III Endowed Scholarship in 2011 to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education at Wayne State University. 

Currently enrolled undergraduate students (full or part time) are eligible to apply for this scholarship. 
This $1,000 scholarship provides financial assistance to those who wish to return to school after a postponement of post-secondary education. Awards may be used for Wayne State tuition and educational expenses.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. on March 31.
