The International Association of Business Communicators recognized Wayne State magazine at its annual dinner in June. The magazine received an award of honor for publication design.

Wayne State magazine also received a second-place award from the Society of Professional Journalists. The publication, an exclusive benefit for alumni association members, was honored for cover design in the Fall 2008 issue, which featured Wayne State President Jay Noren.

In addition, the Summer 2008 issue of Wayne State magazine received an Award of Excellence from Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX) in the category of Magazines and Journals - Print Over 32 Pages.

The alumni association's publications program has received nearly 30 awards, both national and local, since 2005.
