Communicate the Value of Wayne State

The Office of Government and Community Affairs is asking alumni to help communicate the valuable contributions the university makes not to only southeastern Michigan, but to the entire state.

Michigan is grappling with several major challenges – an economic transformation, a “brain drain” of young educated workers and a shortage of healthcare professionals -- which will affect our residents for decades to come. Wayne State plays a unique role by being Michigan 's “university of opportunity” and providing world-class education for students who might otherwise not have access to higher education.

Together, we can amplify our message to our elected officials of the important role Wayne State plays in Michigan.

You can help by lending your name to a letter to the editor or writing an opinion piece in the local newspaper, by participating in a radio program or through other planned communications activities.

If you are willing to help Wayne State communicate the value it contributes to Michigan 's economy and residents, e-mail govcomaffairs@wayne.edu. The office will contact you to discuss how you can get involved.
