The Wayne State University Alumni Association sponsors travel programs as a means of continuing education and recreation for alumni and friends, to provide opportunities for alumni to meet, share experiences and strengthen their affiliation with Wayne State University and to promote membership in the alumni association.
We seek to offer only the finest values through established tour operators who have a track record of superior product and service to groups. The travel program is self-supporting. No membership dues are used to underwrite the travel program.
Travelers receive extra care and attention before and during their WSUAA tours, including service from the alumni office, a tour orientation, tour hosts when possible and hosted social functions during selected tours.
At least one traveler in each room is required to have a current alumni association membership. Friends of the university are eligible to join as associate members. To enjoy the alumni travel experience participants must be in good physical and mental health and be able to keep pace with the group. Participants requiring extraordinary help must be accompanied by an assistant.
Travel insurance is designed to protect you from trip cancellation/interruption penalties and from the cost of lost baggage. It provides medical expense, medical evacuation and accidental death coverage. If purchased within 15 days of the date your initial trip deposit is received, these additional benefits are included: financial default of airlines, cruise lines, and tour operators; terrorism coverage for lost, prepaid travel expenses if you cancel your trip due to a terrorist incident occuring in your departure city or any city scheduled to be visited within 30 days of your departure date; and waiver of pre-existing conditions exclusion. For an additional fee you can upgrade your coverage to "cancel for any reason" until two days prior to departure. But you must purchase the insurance within 15 days of your initial deposit.
